Property Description

The Medici Wine Estate is a recently renovated historical private family estate located just 15 minutes from the heart of Florence near the town of Grassina.   Originally built by the famous Medici family, this charming estate features two separate structures, La Corte Residences, five suites in the main Medicea villa, and the la Torre Residences –  five farmhouse villas which can be rented separately or together.   With one, two, and three bedroom air conditioned farmhouses, and open year-round, the self-catering Residences of the Estate offer elegant Tuscan comfort and do not require traditional weekly stays.

Recently renovated with great care, the furnishings and temperature control systems wrap each villa in modern Tuscan comfort.   With generous room for up to 12 people, La Corte Villa offers five air conditioned one bedroom suites with en-suite bathrooms, and is at the heart of Villa Medici di Wine Estate – next to the main Villa and its courtyard.

Only a short stroll away from the Villa Medici, through the olive trees, La Torre takes its name from one of its former uses – a sighting tower over Florence. Later a convent, it now offers five independent residences around a shared courtyard with views of Florence.   La Torre can accommodate up to 22 people, and the Villas can be booked singly or in different combinations. Built beside the 11th Century Medici Villa, La Corte offers a place to relax and enjoy the comforts of our modern Tuscan life. The five private suites share a large open kitchen, living room area, private courtyard and pool. The suites can accommodate up to 12 people, and can be booked together or separately.

Located on a lush seventy hectare estate, which produces fine wines and olive oils, Medici Wine Estate is a wonderful place to enjoy Florence and Chianti – either for a quick weekend getaway or an extended holiday.

Villa Layout

 La Corte Villa

Five one bedroom air conditioned suites ranging from 20 to 31 square meters each with en suite bathroom, each with the option of one king size bed or two twin beds.  Each bedroom is equipped with a satellite flat screen television and a safe.  Each room has a large fully equipped kitchen and living room area with another flat screen television and a double sofa bed and the estate has WiFi internet in each room.

La Torre Villas

Villa Ferdinando provides charming air conditioned accommodation for four people in two bedrooms, with an additional double sofa bed in the living room. Both bedrooms are en-suite (one with a walk-in shower, the other with a full-size bath, and both with ‘his and hers’ basins) and have windows on two sides for magnificent views.

On the ground floor a comfortable living room leads to the kitchen, with a dining table that seats six, and a practical island unit. There is a connecting door from the living room to Villa Vincenzo next door, so if you and your friends book both villas, it’s easy to socialize.

This beautifully refurbished villa is close to a cycle track, which can take you on a tour of the local vineyards. It’s an ideal base for healthy exercise and perhaps a little wine tasting too!

Villa Vincenzo sleeps six people in three air conditioned double bedrooms. The main bedroom is en-suite, with a double walk-in shower and ‘his and hers’ basins, while the other two bedrooms (which look out on your terrace) share a bathroom, also with walk-in shower.

Downstairs the large living room has a double sofa bed, and leads to the dining room with a grand table that seats eight. There’s a cloakroom conveniently tucked away, and a large well-equipped kitchen. Doors open from the dining room onto the shared terrace, with fabulous views of Florence and the countryside.

A door in the entrance hallway connects with Villa Ferdinando next door, so if you have a larger group on holiday, attending a social event or staying on business, you can book Villa Vincenzo and Villa Ferdinando together.

Villa Clementina is the largest La Torre villa, with two exciting extras: a bedroom in a tower with 360 degrees views! All La Torre villas offer uplifting vistas, but the view from Villa Clementina’s old lookout tower is finest of all. And, a private ancient wine cellar.

Villa Clementina sleeps six people in three air conditioned spacious double bedrooms. The largest bedroom has a magnificent en-suite spa bathroom with double walk-in showers and a full-size bath. The second bedroom (on the same level) and the third bathroom, upstairs in the tower, both have en-suites with double walk-in showers. All have ‘his and hers’ basins.

Downstairs there’s an inviting living room with double sofa bed, and a separate studio / T.V. lounge with adjacent cloakroom. The dining room with eight seat table opens onto the terrace and includes a kitchen and separate laundry room. Lavishly restored, staying in Villa Clementina will make you feel like a Medici aristocrat.

Villa Alessandro features a large open plan room with a view, and what a spectacular view it is, looking out onto a secluded terrace, shared swimming pool and beyond to the glories of the Tuscan countryside.

Sleeping four people in two air conditioned double bedrooms, both with baths en-suite and ‘his and hers’ basins, Villa Alessandro conveniently combines living room (with double sofa bed), eight seat dining table and a kitchen, with a cloakroom tucked away.

Both the ground and first floor have connecting doors to Villa Diletta next door, so if you book both villas together, it’s easy for you and your friends to get together for drinks, dinner (indoors or al fresco on the terrace) or simply enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Villa Diletta is the perfect size for a couple or perhaps an executive enjoying an extended stay at the Wine Estate.

With one double air conditioned en-suite bedroom, it’s intimate yet comfortable. Downstairs the open plan living room, with double sofa bed, dining table and kitchen, opens out onto a private terrace. Beyond that is the large swimming pool, and stretching into the far distance, the captivating Tuscan countryside.

Upstairs, light floods into the double bedroom from a large window with spectacular views of Florence, and the en-suite bathroom includes a double walk-in shower and ‘his and hers’ basins. On this level and the ground floor, there are connecting doors to Villa Alessandro, which can be booked together with Villa Diletta for extended family or business accommodation.
