Florence – our bilingual licensed guides and historians will take you to the Academia,where Michelangelo’s major sculptures, including ‘The David’ are on display – the Uffizi Gallery, the magnificent home of paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt, and Giotto amongst others. You will then be guided through the breathtaking and seldom seen Vasarian Corridor which connects the Uffizi through a secret passage across the Ponte Vecchio to the Pitti Palace. Built as an escape route for Cosimo de Medici, the father of the Renaissance, to get from his home the Pitti Palace, to his office in the Uffizi, this passage is lined with spectacular self-portraits by some of the most famous painters of all time.
Or perhaps you might want to take a fabulous walking tour of the Renaissance City where one of our historical guides can provide you with the history of theDuomo, Giotto’s tower, the Baptistery, the Medici Chapel at San Lorenzo and the Palazzo della Signoria.
