WEDDING RECEPTION: This Italian Wedding Villa in Siena is a beautiful and historic 14th century estate that has been in the owners’ family since 1512. The original building was initially just a farmhouse that underwent a stunning transformation into a grand country estate with villa, chapel and Italian garden. This was done to celebrate the marriage of the owner’s son to a local bride in 1768. The villa was decorated with many frescoes and other artworks to honour and celebrate this important marriage and they now create an original setting celebrating romance and weddings for anyone who chooses the Villa for their own special day.

The Italian Wedding Villa in Siena has been declared a National Heritage site of outstanding beauty and tours of the Villa and its gardens and can be arranged.

The garden can be divided into two areas: the front of the villa is known as the Piazzone; the other the Kitchen Garden. The Piazzone is laid out parallel to the front of the building, with large lawns at the sides, edged with low box hedges and ending at its southern side with the grand theatre. The garden is organised in the Italian style with geometric beds arranged around a well. It is surrounded by a high wall into which six gates open, flanked by monumental pillars crowned with terracotta vases and statues of monkeys.

Through one of these gates you’ll find the Pomario, a mixture of flowerbeds and vegetables, which contains topiary and a terrace fish pond and has a magnificent view over nearby Siena.

The Theatre (Teatro di Verzura) – Decorated with groups of century-old cypresses, a parterre of box-trees and hundreds of potted lemon trees, the arboretum hides a charming open-air theatre, the Teatro di Verzura. This raised 18th-century theatre is surrounded by tall laurel hedges and consists of a proscenium made up of twin arches. The niches of its arches contain statues of Tragedy and Comedy, by the Maltese sculptor Bosio.

CIVIL & RELIGIOUS WEDDINGS: Civil ceremonies may be held either in Siena or nearby Castelnuovo Berardenga both stunning historical locations. A religious ceremony may be celebrated in the small private chapel on site or in a larger parish church nearby. The estate provides a perfect setting for a symbolic celebration in the grounds.
