MEAGHAN & DAVID

Meaghan’s mother Connie contacted TuscanDream and explained that her daughter, Meaghan, wanted to find the perfect luxury villa for a July wedding. Meaghan and her fiancé David had been thinking about getting married in New York where they live, but felt that if they got married there it would force them to have a wedding which was bigger and more impersonal than they wanted.Tuscany was always a magical place for Meaghan and David and they wanted to celebrate their wedding among close friends and family in a venue with the elegance, charm, style and beauty which would symbolize their marriage.

We listened to Connie’s description of what she thought Meaghan and David were looking for – and quickly showed her one of our favourite lucca wedding villas. A few moments later Meaghan called us and told us she was in love with the Lucca villa and then the lucca wedding planning began in earnest!

Meaghan had envisioned a simple and casually elegant wedding where the wedding party could be comfortable and relaxed but at the same time somewhat formal. The villa they had chosen had spectacularly beautiful manicured gardens full of flowers and with this majestic villa’s stately facade we did not need to do much in the way of scene setting – as the estate is so picturesque that it looks like it was ripped right out of the pages of a fairy tale! The perfect lucca wedding villa!

We decided to go with a long wooden table and a custom designed ornate white linen runnerthat we made for them. The setting was gorgeous, with white linen napkins tied with a fine pink organza ribbon and embellished with a small rosemary. We put together floral arrangements of multi-coloured peonies – Meaghan’s favourite flowers, and complemented them with small roses. Complimenting the table setting were pillar candles in hurricane lamps with salt at the bottom, and two tall candelabras placed in the center of the table. Meaghan and David did not want traditional name cards on the table, so we engraved each guests’ name on corks as an informal and more intimate alternative.

We surrounded the dining area with wooden lanterns in three different sizes to delineate the dining area within the quite large garden. The same lanterns were also used toilluminate the path to the location for the cutting of the wedding cake ceremony. This was done in one of the two charming squares of the estate that became the dance floor and open bar area for the after dinner party.

The bridal bouquet was of course still with peonies in every colour you can think of!
