Tuscany’s picture-perfect vineyards, culture galore, Renaissance art, and delectable cuisine are not the only things drawing people back for more. In today’s post, I will talk about all the thrilling experiences that keep calling our clients back every summer!

If you’re craving a more active, outdoorsy vacation this summer, here are 4 adventures Tuscany has to offer.

1. Giglio Island

The island of Giglio is located off the coast of Argentario, in the province of Grosseto. With its 21 square kilometers, the island of Giglio is the second-largest island (after Elba) in the Tuscan archipelago. Giglio Island is one of those places where the water is beautiful and crystal clear everywhere, making it super friendly to explore.

Boat Rental Made Easy

  • No License Required: Renting a boat with an engine under 25 horsepower means you can captain your own vessel without a formal license. This is a fun, budget-friendly way to explore the island’s hidden coves and beaches at your own pace.
  • Boating Around Giglio: Cruise around the island’s perimeter to find secluded spots for swimming and snorkeling. Keep an eye out for the colorful marine life that thrives in these pristine waters!

Wine & Food Highlights

  • Specialty Wine of Giglio: Don’t miss the chance to taste the island’s unique white wine, Ansonaco (also known as Ansonica). The grape thrives in the island’s sunny, coastal climate, producing a fresh, aromatic wine often paired with fresh seafood.
  • Vineyard Tour & Tasting: Head to the hilltop vineyards for a guided tour and wine tasting. The panoramic views alone are worth the trip, and you’ll learn how local winemakers have perfected their craft in this unique island terrain.
  • Local Cuisine: It doesn’t get fresher than this. For lunch, indulge in seafood caught that morning. Try spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams) or a classic caciucco (Tuscan fish stew), followed by a glass of Ansonaco!

  • Kayaking or Paddleboarding around the coast for a more active workout on the water.

Local Festivals: If you visit during the summer months, you might catch local celebrations or food festivals (sagre) displaying the island’s unique culture.

2. Motorcycle Tour

Imagine cruising through vineyards, olive groves, and medieval villages, the warm Mediterranean breeze at your back.
