The lovely Villa Petrea is an eight bedroom air conditioned villa, located on a hill, overlooking the beautiful Val D’Ambra valley and just a short walk to town. Built in the 17th century in the Sienese stone architectural style this villa is within walking distance of Bucine where there are several restaurants, shops and a train station with hourly commuter trains to Florence – which is only a 45 minute drive by car.
Villa Petrea is furnished with Tuscan antiques and each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom. With all the modern conveniences Villa Petrea is perfect for family reunions. Included in the price is daily maid service (except on Sundays). The villa’s amiable owner is a tennis teacher and he gives lessons at a nearby tennis club in Montevarchi for 26 Euros per hour. Mountain bikes can be rented and delivered to the villa, and there is a splendid local cook available to cook fabulous Tuscan meals.
Ground Floor: Ground Floor: One enters Villa Petrea through the loggia into a large living room with a traditional Tuscan fireplace. This communicates with a dining room and a well furnished modern kitchen as well as a bathroom. Through a separate ground floor entrance there is a suite with a living room and two bedrooms with queen beds and en suite bathrooms. The first bedroom and bath are handicap accessible.
First Floor: Up a staircase from the loggia is a huge open living area with breathtaking views of the vineyards of Chianti below. There are five bedrooms each with its own en suite bath. Three of the bedrooms have Matrimonial beds, and the remaining two bedrooms are furnished with twin beds.
Tower: Up a staircase to the tower is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom.
Villa Petrea is on a three hectare estate surrounded by cypress trees, olive groves and vineyards. There is a large 14 meter by 7 meter swimming pool and t here is a large covered patio furnished with tables and chairs which is perfect for dining al fresco.
