Spring Wedding in a Chianti Castle with Menu Included

Carolina Casini 16/10/2014

On a beautiful spring day at the beginning of the month of May in a Castle in Chianti with about 80 guests we made it happen!

Many foreign couples planning their destination wedding in Tuscany consider the month of May for their wedding. While the end of month feels almost like summer already, with longer daylight and steady weather, the beginning of the month can be more tricky and risky weather wise. For Richard and Tierneys wedding we completely lucked out! Beautiful blue sky, warm temperature and flowers in bloom in every corner of the castle to decorate their wedding day!

Spring weddings are also great because there are so many flowers in season that you have endless options in terms of shape and colors you can choose from. Many of them are really only available up to the first week of May in Tuscany because after that, due to the warmer temperatures they wont be able to look fresh for the entire wedding day. Tulips are not an exception to that and we were lucky enough to be able to use purple tulips as the signature flower of the entire event.

Food! Tuscan cuisine follows what is in season and here is what Richard & Tierney chose to delight their guestspalates:

Aperitif

Prosecco with FreshPeach Juice, Fruit Juices, Parmesan Cheese, Olives, Puff Pastry Pizzas, Fried Vegetables

Tuscan cured ham served with pineapple & water melon

Pear and sheeps cheese salad with honey and pine nuts

Caprese mozzarella, tomato & basil

Bruschetta with fresh tomato and basil

Dinner

Tortello pasta parcels filled with ricotta cheese & pear with butter and sage

Sliced Beef-steak with rosemary & balsamic vinegarsauces on the side, served with roasted potatoes and mixed salad

Wedding Cake

Millefoglie with chantilly cream decorated with berries & white chocolate
